Salt River Project Deploys Lieberman Software Enterprise Solutions

Los Angeles, CA (PRWeb) December 18, 2006 -- Lieberman Software Corporation today announced that Salt River Project purchased and deployed four Lieberman Software products. The products will accomplish comprehensive systems and account management operations on thousands of Microsoft Windows servers and workstations throughout the multi-site Salt River Project enterprise.

Salt River Project is the third-largest public power utility in the nation, serving more than 890,000 electricity customers in the greater Phoenix, AZ metropolitan area. It consists of two entities: the Salt River Project Agricultural Improvement and Power District, a political subdivision of the state of Arizona; and the Salt River Valley Water Users' Association, a private corporation. The District operates or participates in 11 major power plants and numerous other generating stations, including thermal, nuclear, natural gas and hydroelectric sources. The Association delivers nearly one million acre-feet of water annually to a service area in central Arizona.

The four Lieberman Software products purchased by Salt River Project were User Manager Pro™, Random Password Manager Enterprise Edition™, Service Account Manager™, and Task Scheduler Pro™. Collectively, these solutions automate time intensive security, systems maintenance, and reporting duties, reducing the complexity of administering the Windows enterprise.

"Previously, in order to perform service or account changes en masse across our systems we relied on scripting tools that we developed internally," said Dale Inman, Principal Network Analyst at Salt River Project. "However, those tools required extensive manual processes. The Lieberman Software products were acquired to reduce the time spent in daily systems administration activities."

In addition to the time consuming aspect of scripting solutions noted by Inman, scripts also have support, documentation, and troubleshooting drawbacks, and the potential that one failure can affect multiple systems and users. Lieberman Software's solutions are administered from one console to provide automated systems management functions for machines throughout the network. The products do not require agents to be deployed to clients and are multi-threaded, ensuring that one system failure does not affect other machines in the network.

"Salt River Project's investment in our solutions is an indication that large organizations are looking for effective and affordable methods to manage their groups, users, services, and passwords," said Philip Lieberman, president of Lieberman Software. "By providing scalable security and systems management solutions that can be deployed and administered with a minimum amount of user involvement, we're adding a vital component to an efficient IT infrastructure."
